Job Description

Lead cutting-edge ambulatory pharmacy services at a premier Southern California academic medical center and accelerate a leadership trajectory to new heights. 🌟 The Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager will champion innovation, quality, and patient-centered outcomes across a high-performing outpatient enterprise.

The Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager will join an award-winning institution recognized for national rankings in multiple adult specialties, exceptional patient safety scores, and a culture of excellence that embraces research, teaching, and continuous improvement in ambulatory pharmacy. The Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager will leverage advanced technologies—enterprise EHR integration, barcode verification, pharmacy robotics, and AI-enabled clinical decision support—while benefiting from robust community investment, strong philanthropy, and a mission-driven commitment to health equity and access.

Embedded within the hospital’s outpatient network, the Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager will support services aligned with a Comprehensive Stroke Center, a Cardiac Center of Excellence, and a renowned orthopedics program, ensuring safe, evidence-based ambulatory pharmacy practice. The Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager will drive transitions-of-care counseling, medication therapy management, collaborative practice initiatives, specialty pharmacy coordination, neurology and cardiology optimization, and perioperative and bone health pathways that reduce readmissions and elevate the patient experience.

The Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager will report to the Director of Pharmacy Services with close collaboration alongside the Chief Pharmacy Officer, receiving strong operational and clinical support to lead ambulatory pharmacy growth. The Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager will guide clinical pharmacists, coordinators, and certified technicians; partner daily with friendly nurses, physicians, advanced practice providers, case managers, social work, and rehabilitation specialists; and oversee operations, quality, staffing, budgeting, inventory stewardship, regulatory readiness, 340B stewardship where applicable, P&T participation, precepting, professional development, and performance improvement initiatives that advance ambulatory pharmacy excellence.

In a vibrant region known for sunshine, coastline, mountains, and year-round recreation, the Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager will enjoy unrivaled access to beaches, hiking, cycling, and weekend escapes to wine country, desert retreats, or snow-capped peaks. The Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager will also appreciate a world-class arts scene, concerts and festivals, renowned museums and theme parks, diverse global cuisine, thriving neighborhoods, professional sports, and an energetic outdoor lifestyle that makes Southern California an ideal home for ambulatory pharmacy leaders.

The Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager will be offered competitive compensation up to $245,000, alongside a full suite of health and retirement benefits, paid time off, professional development and CE support, wellness resources, and potential relocation assistance. To learn more in confidence, the Ambulatory Pharmacy Manager is invited to connect with a Clinical Management Consultants recruiter and explore how this ambulatory pharmacy leadership opportunity can elevate career impact today. 📩
