This position is accountable for serving as Assistant Administrator to the Contract Administrator in assisting for contracting, bidding, and contract award processes to allow the Capital Development Board (CDB) to operate in an economical and efficient manner.
Major aspects of this position include negotiating fair and consistent design fees; timely processing of contracts; ensuring that projects are bid in compliance with the Illinois Procurement Code; handling confidential contractual and litigation, board and personnel issues; and verifying that A/E firms and construction contractors meet insurance and other Capital Development Board requirements. The position handles the prequalification of vendors and the tracking of suspensions of prequalified vendors. This position handles confidential information related to contracts, board actions, legal matters, and personnel issues. The incumbent assists the Contract Administrator, other CDB Divisions, the Chief Procurement Office, state agencies, and the design and construction industries to verify the effective and timely delivery of capital projects. The incumbent has frequent contact with numerous state agencies and client agencies. Travel and overnight lodging required.
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (Flex and hybrid schedules available)
