Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cradle to Grave Freight Broker Agent to join our team. This role involves managing the entire freight sales process from prospecting and lead generation to pricing, closing deals, and overseeing the shipment process. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in freight brokerage, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and carriers.
Responsibilities:
• Develop new business through lead generation and prospecting via various communication methods (email, phone, face-to-face visits, etc.).
• Manage and grow existing and new business relationships with clients and carriers.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers to ensure competitive pricing and margin integrity.
• Create and provide customers with accurate freight quotes.
• Set up carriers and update carrier information in the Transportation Management System (TMS).
• Monitor and track shipments throughout the shipping process, ensuring timely delivery and resolving any issues that arise.
• Provide full-cycle customer service from contract to delivery.
• Increase revenue and maximize profitability for the freight brokerage.
• Conduct cold calling to create, build, and maintain customer relationships.
• Utilize personal contacts, networking, and negotiating skills to grow sustainable and profitable business relationships.
• Minimum of 1 year of brokerage sales and operations experience in the transportation/logistics industry.
• Proven ability to manage and grow business relationships with clients and carriers.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in pricing and margin integrity.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Goal-oriented with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
• Experience working with various modes of transportation (truckload, LTL, intermodal, etc.) is preferred.
