Qualifications:Bachelors or Masters in related Department of Elementary and Secondary Education certification interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills : Reports to the Building Principal Compensation: FLSA ExemptWork Year: 183 Day School YearProfessional Responsibilities:Create and implement engaging developmentally appropriate lesson plans that teach knowledge and skills in physical fitness health movement patterns games and individual/team instruction to students on basic nutrition (e.g. healthy eating habits and food groups) and personal safety (e.g. proper use of equipment rules for safe play and basic first aid) as part of a comprehensive wellness assess and evaluate student progress towards the Massachusetts Comprehensive Health and Physical Education standards and provide timely constructive feedback. Adapt curriculum to meet the needs of the students with varying abilities including the special needs of students including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 and maintain standards of student behavior necessary to provide for an orderly and productive learning environment including direct instruction in good positive and open communications and partnerships with parents/guardians to benefit their students.
