RN - Wound Care Nurse

Location: Flagstaff, AZ 86001

12 Months Contract

Schedule:

The team is flexible on the schedule.

Options: 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm or 8am-5pm.

- 8hrs Monday- Friday- No weekends.

Requirements:

-Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in Arizona

-Certification as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse (CWOCN or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN)

Job Description:

Duties:

• -Perform wound assessments, reassessments and management for all patients and per policies and procedures

• -Develops skin care programs to prevent skin breakdown of residents

• -Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to manage residents with draining wounds, fistulae and/or tubes; wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care, and incontinence

• -Revise plan of care as indicated by the resident's response to treatment and evaluate overall plan for effectiveness

• -Assesses and reassesses pain

• -Utilize appropriate pain management techniques and educate residents and family regarding pain management

• -Serves as a resource to nursing and other facility staff by providing in-services on wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care, and incontinence

• -Communicates appropriately and clearly to nursing staff and Physicians

• -Provides in-services on wound prevention, wound care, ostomy care and Incontinence for the nursing staff as necessary

• -Communicate appropriately and clearly to nursing staff and physicians

• -Consults other healthcare professionals as appropriate to provide interdisciplinary approach to the resident's needs

• -Ensure that documentation meets current standards and practices

• -Attend training and continuing education classes in the areas of wound prevention, wound management and ostomies and stays current with changes, new advances/treatment in wound care

Selective Preferences:

• Experience in a skilled nursing facility/long term care environment

Required Skills:

Active RN license in the state of Arizona

Preferred Skills:

• One or more years of skilled nursing facility or long-term care experience preferred.
